First: Because of much preparation, administration and final packing of all my stuff for my emigration from Netherlands to Norway I did not have the time to update this blog for a long time. On the 15th of February I created a new post: Bulletin 1, week 7, 2012
About this blog
This blog has been created in 2009 when my group Friends of Mikis, belonging to my YouTube channel TheodorakisFriends, disappeared: YouTube stopped with all groups. YouTube is not enough to spread all the news from, around and about Mikis Theodorakis. The idea for creating a blog had been born. And here it (still) is.
I gather all existing videos with Mikis Theodorakis’s music and his activities in politics, from the past to the present. That is a huge job, a daily work, needed to listen and watch new videos, add them to playlists or to create new playlists, to search for news on internet and on the special Theodorakis websites. When there is much new or older news there is a special bulletin what is sent to the contacts and subscribers of the TheodorakisFriends YouTube channel. You can find all these sendings in the categories 2010 (footer area), 2011 (footer area) and 2012 (Primary widget area, on the right). Note: because of changes in the YouTube channel design (by YouTube itself) it is not possible to send more than one message at the same time. That is why just a few friends got a message, after that I stopped: there are over sixhundred addresses! It takes too much time. I sent it with twitter and with posts on the channel (feed).
A very important source for my news is always Ineke van der Maat, who created, owns and hosts the only Dutch Theodorakis website. She has also a YouTube channel: Inekemaa1
On the featured page in my Theodorakis YouTube channel you can find also a list with important external links, all leading you to important and/or nice Theodorakis information.
You can subscribe the channel, you can also follow my Theodorakis activities on Twitter.
In the special Theodorakis Film Channel you can find films with Theodorakis’s music. There have been created two extra film channels next to that one, to avoid copyright problems and a being suspended by YouTube, what means that YouTube closes the account and with that all the work for creating the videos is lost. If YouTube should close an account, now or in the future, for one film, the other film is still there in another channel. You can visit and watch: “Zorba the Greek” (full film) and “Z” (full film)
More Theodorakis films will be uploaded. I am very grateful to have the support from the Danish Per Rasmussen for this huge job: creating and uploading film videos. He owns YouTube channel: solidaritet2010 , in which he uploaded the full film and the soundtracks of State of Siege.
